Marinette Center Pool to Reopen March 22nd The Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc.’s Marinette Recreation Center pool will reopen on March 22nd. The renovated pool was inspected and approved by the Maricopa County Department of Environmental Services on March 21st. The spa at Marinette, which was also renovated, remains closed, but RCSC expects it to reopen shortly pending approval of an expedited variance application for a stainless steel support bar in the middle of the spa. The steel support bar in the spa is no longer allowed per Maricopa County code, but RCSC believes it is an important safety precaution for spa users. The pool contractor, Rondo Pools, has applied for a variance from the county that would allow the bar to remain in the spa. The County Department of Environmental Services has promised RCSC that the variance application will be expedited and the approval timeline for reopening the spa will be significantly shortened. The Marinette pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
