The renovation
of the pool and spa facilities at the Marinette Recreation Center in Sun
City continues. The Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc., is set to
reopen the facilities in early February.
The
fiberglass interior of the Marinette pool will be removed and replaced
with pebble sheen finish. New cool decking will also be installed around
the pool. A bench will be added to the pool interior and the pool steps
have been redesigned to allow easier entry.
In addition,
the pool will receive new plumbing, skimmers and heaters, as well as new
supply lines to and from the pool equipment. The outdoor showers for the
pool and spa are also being replaced with a pole-type unit.
The indoor
spa is being totally renovated, including new plumbing and a new
interior with ceramic wall and floor tile.
The locker
room facilities are also being completely renovated with a new concrete
slab and attractive floor tiling. New plumbing and light fixtures
combined with new lockers also complement the new shower facilities.
Even the
entrance to Marinette’s pool facilities will have a new look. The
breezeway that formerly housed the gates to the pool area will be
enclosed to create a check-in station for visitors, help RCSC meet
county health requirements and provide a more welcoming entrance to the
pool and spa facilities.
According to
RCSC Director of Centers Operations Jim Wellman, the Marinette project
was not delayed or affected by the roof problems at Sundial since the
renovations were already budgeted.
