Mark your
calendars for the 2008 edition of Spring Fling, Sun City’s party of the
year! The 2008 Spring Fling will be held on Saturday, March 8, from 7
a.m. to 4 p.m. in and around Sundial Recreation Center at 14801 N.
103rd. Ave. in Sun City.
Spring Fling is a free annual event open to Sun Citians and their
friends. Last year, over 6,000 people attended Spring Fling and enjoyed
a 5K/3K Run/Walk benefiting the American Cancer Society, exciting
entertainment and a variety of exhibits and vendors. Each year the event
continues to evolve, and the 2008 edition promises to be better than
ever!
Spring Fling will again kick off with the 5K Competitive Run/3K Walk
benefiting the American Cancer Society. Participants in the Run/Walk may
choose to compete in a 5K competitive race or just have fun running or
walking in a 3K race. In the 5K competitive race, awards will be given
to the top three male and female finishers in each age division.
Registration forms for the Run/Walk will be available at the Sun City
Visitors Center, located in Bell Recreation Center at 16820 N. 99th
Ave., and at the Clubs and Activities Office at Lakeview Recreation
Center, located at 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd. There is a $20
registration fee for the 5K competitive race and a $10 fee for the 3K
walk. The 5K will begin at 7 a.m. and the 3K will start at 7:15 a.m.
Participants may check in prior to the race from 5 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
All proceeds from the Run/Walk will go to the American Cancer Society,
and pledge sheets are available for participants to collect donations if
they wish. The families and friends of participants are welcome to
sponsor their runners and walkers in the event.
The party will continue following the Run/Walk. Throughout the day
attendees can enjoy an array of talented performers on the Sundial
Auditorium main stage, including a popular variety show featuring
members of the Sun City community. In addition, the Sundial East and
West Halls will feature numerous exhibits and vendors, all offering fun
and freebies!

The Spring Fling, now in its fourth year, is hosted by the Recreation
Centers of Sun City, but the event is made possible by the support of
