A 1,890 sq. ft.
new multi-use building at Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc.’s Bell
Recreation Center is in the final phases of construction. The new
building, which is located at the site of the former lawn bowling
building at the corner of Hutton Dr. and Boswell Blvd., will primarily
house meeting spaces for RCSC chartered clubs and other groups.
The multi-use building will include a
20’ by 40’ meeting room that can be divided into two 20’ by 20’ spaces.
These rooms will be available for clubs to use for meetings and events
and can be scheduled for use through the Clubs and Activities Office.
The space includes a small counter with a sink and refrigerator as well
as new men’s and women’s restrooms and storage for tables and chairs.
Like the new Bell pool and fitness facility, the multi-use building will
have up-to-date security and fire equipment, including prewiring for
swipe card access.
Approximately 600 sq. ft. of the
building will also serve as club space for the Bell Lawn Bowls Club.
RCSC Assistant General Manager Jim
Wellman noted that $410,000 is budgeted for the project, and the project
will be funded through Capital Preservation/Improvement fees. Ken
McIntyre Construction is the contractor for the project.
