After two vehicles were broken into at Lakeview Lanes on Saturday,
May 31, Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc. advises all cardholders
and their guests to be vigilant while at RCSC facilities. “It is
never pleasant to have such an incident happen anywhere in our
community, but we do want to take this as an opportunity to tell our
cardholders to be aware of their surroundings while visiting RCSC
facilities,” said General Manager Jan Ek.
The break-ins occurred in broad daylight the evening of May 31 in
the parking lot of Lakeview Lanes. One vehicle on the west side and
one vehicle on the east side were broken into. Maricopa County
Sheriff’s Office was called immediately to report the crime.
Though Sun City is generally a safe place, it is important to
remember that the community is not immune to crime even during the
daylight hours. RCSC encourages all cardholders and their guests to
secure personal items before entering any facility. Cardholders
should completely roll up their windows, lock their car doors and
not leave personal items in plain sight.
“Despite ours being a relatively safe community, there are still
individuals out there who will try to take advantage of seniors and
retirees,” said Denny Nichols, president of the RCSC Board of
Directors. “Just be aware of what’s going on around you, and make
sure to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.”
