The 2008 Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc.’s
Board of Directors elections are nearing. RCSC members have two
opportunities to vote—either at the Early Election, held at Sundial
Recreation Center during the Arts and Crafts Festival on November 23 and
24, or during the regular Election Day on Tuesday, December 11.
There are nine candidates running for four open positions: three
three-year terms and one one-year term. The candidates are: Craig W.
Brown, Elaine Downing, Nelson Droege, Irma Frederick, Bill Johnson, John
Kurczek, Sue Painter, Denny Scoville and Gene Westemeier.
The final “Meet the Candidates” event will be held on Monday, November
19, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Fairway Auditorium. RCSC members should
take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the candidates
and ask questions
The early election will be held on Friday, November 23, and Saturday,
November 24, at Sundial Recreation Center in the RV Room. On Friday
voting will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, voting will
be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, December 11, walk-in voting will be available from 8 a.m. to
6 p.m. at four locations: the auditorium at Fairway Recreation Center,
Social Hall #2 at Lakeview Recreation Center, the auditorium at
Marinette Recreation Center and Social Hall #1 at Bell Recreation
Center.
Absentee ballots may also be obtained. Members can contact Helen Thiel
in the Board Office at (623)876-3000 to obtain an absentee ballot or get
more information. Mail-in ballots must be received in the RCSC Board
Office by Monday, December 10.
