The Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc. Board of Directors has
appointed Shirley Humphrey to the 2008 Board of Directors. Mrs.
Humphrey’s appointment fills the vacancy created when Director Dave
Rutledge resigned. Mrs. Humphrey’s term will end at the close of 2008,
at which point she can choose to run for election to the 2009 Board.
A Wyoming native, Mrs. Humphrey and her husband Jack moved to Sun City
in 2003. She possesses extensive experience in the education field,
having taught at the elementary, high school, junior college and
university levels, as well as worked for the Wyoming Department of
Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and a
master’s degree in Public Administration, both from the University of
Wyoming. She is no stranger to community involvement, as she served as a
Representative in the Wyoming State Legislature for ten years and was
also active in a variety of civic organizations during her time in
Wyoming. Here in Sun City she is an active member of the Computer Club
and has participated in several other RCSC activities.
“It is my desire to assure that the great volunteer spirit of Sun City
continues for many years to come,” Mrs. Humphrey said in her application
to the Board. “Long term planning for active lifestyle enhancement
should be a major focus.”
